Design Carnival & Build Expo 2025
AI — Architecture Intelligence
Three days on what artificial intelligence is doing to architecture — a build expo, master classes, student competitions, and a street carnival at Janpath.
The chapter's own carnival, held under the theme AI — Architecture Intelligence and inaugurated by Shri Manoj Ahuja, IAS, Chief Secretary, Government of Odisha, with senior members of the IIA and the Council of Architecture.
The Build Expo opened to the public on the first evening, alongside a master class by Ar. Nuru Karim on architecture, urbanism and computational design. The second day belonged to the students — competitions and workshops through the day, a master session by Ar. Sahil Tanveer on architecture, AI and speculative design, and an evening panel, Synergy in Architecture: a dialogue between the COA, the IIA, academia and practising architects, before the cultural programme and the fellowship dinner.
The carnival closed by leaving the hotel altogether. A Street Carnival at Janpath, Master Canteen, run with the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation and opened by Sri Chanchal Rana, IAS, Commissioner, put public art, design installations and performances in front of whoever happened to be passing.
